Has anyone used Gravitas Science Curriculum (Real Science for Kids)?  I'd love to hear your opinions.  Since we are a Catholic family and I'd prefer not to have to modify a curriculum further, is it Catholic or Catholic-friendly?

I'm looking for a good, concise resource for biological taxonomy to help my middle and high school kids classify plants and animals.  I'm so far out of the loop, I had no idea that 6 kingdoms are now being taught... As if it weren't complex enough.

What about Priscilla Spears?  She is supposed to be excellent and works with the Montessori community which is very specific about such things.  I haven't used her resources but I know I have SOMETHING of hers on the shelf....maybe i should look?  Here is a link:

You should fire Macbeth Derham an email and see what she thinks... Have you seen her recommendations for highschool?

A Montessori style tool is one of the thing that I would like to have or create for them.  First I need to have access to resources describing each class and variation. I have a friend who is a biologist.  She actually delivered Sophie and Louis and is a homeschool Mama. :)  I'm going to get in touch with her tomorrow about books she can recommend.

Once we've done that I'm going to get the older kids to start classifying what they can find around the farm.

I'll check out Priscilla Spears' site, and see what Macbeth has for info.  Yay!
